Injury Management Due to Motor Vehicle Accidents
Motor vehicle accidents can be physically and emotionally challenging. Fortunately, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) provides coverage for necessary medical treatments, including physiotherapy. Following a motor vehicle accident, you are entitled to 25 physiotherapy treatments and 12 active rehab appointments within the first 12 weeks from the date of the accident.
Your physiotherapy appointments will include:
A Comprehensive Assessment and Individualized Treatment Plan:
Physiotherapy begins with a thorough assessment to identify injuries and develop a personalized treatment plan. By addressing the root cause of pain and limitations, we will guide you towards regaining functionality, decreasing pain, and minimizing long-term complications.
Pain Management and Restoring Mobility:
Physiotherapy employs various techniques like manual therapy, rehabilitative exercises, and modalities such as ultrasound, interferential, dry needling/IMS, and shockwave therapy to effectively manage pain and restore function
Preventing Chronic Pain:
Prompt physiotherapy intervention is crucial in preventing chronic pain that may result from motor vehicle accidents. Physiotherapists target affected areas, improve posture, and promote optimal movement patterns to prevent chronic pain and future complications.
Collaborative Care and Treatment Sessions:
Physiotherapy in conjunction with ICBC claims encourages a collaborative approach among healthcare professionals. We will work closely with physicians, chiropractors, massage therapists, and occupational therapists to provide comprehensive care and achieve the best outcomes.
